I rarely make New Years Resolutions but this year I have made 1 resolution:

It’s not life changing, not profound but it will be a challenge and I love challenges.

Green Bikini

THE RESOLUTION - To fit into this very sexy, skimpy, bright green bikini I bought at TJ Maxx last week. We are heading to Hawaii in a month & I have ~ 5 weeks to lose ~ 5 -7  pounds & get better toned. I have some perfectly nice bikini’s to wear on the trip so what has possessed me, at the age of 47,  to want to go skimpier and  expose more flesh?  Maybe just to see if I can do it. Since I sold my business last summer I have given myself a vacation both mentally & physically, to regroup & see how I want my future to proceed.. but back to the resolution.

I have one disadvantage right now though, I had surgery on my foot 3 weeks ago (for a Morton’s Neuroma) and I am unable to put weight on the base on my right foot.

Diet: I am analyzing all food that enters my body to make sure the calories I am consuming are going to give me maximum energy.

  • I am eating a good breakfast – lots of protein, veggies & complex carbs or no carbs.
  • I don’t want to feel like I am on a diet so I am basically eating the same but less carbs & smaller portions.
  • I often  like a glass of wine with my meal so I have cut back on that & if I have any I’ll have 1/2 a glass.
  • When I want something sweet – I’ll have a small piece of dark chocolate with almonds.

Seems to be working so far but I am only a week into it.

  • I got the Wii Fit Plus for Christmas & having been using it almost every day & I love it! To see your minutes of activity & calories burned is a great motivator. What are your favorite activities on it?
  • Shovelling snow – not so much fun but a good workout.
  • I am new in my town but I have heard that there is Gym so I’ll check that out next week.

That’s about it right now, I think I’ll have the green light by my doctor to do more in another week though.

Please – share any tips that work for you!

“I eat real clean; brown rice, fish, and salads.” – Marissa Miller. Since I don’t have time to hit the gym as rigorously as I once did…I think I may give this a try : )

How do I find a nice hotel for little money in Tampa Bay?

  3. Heather says:

    Hi Cheri,
Thanks for the great question. I love to travel & I spend a lot of time planning for my vacations but the payoff is in the $$ saved that can be used for other things or a longer vacation or 2 vacations for the price of 1. I just wrote a blog on you question – check it out: How to find a nice hotel room on the cheap!
I am currently planning a 3 week trip to Hawaii & my goal is to do this for the price of one week. I’ll be posting a blog in the next few days to let you know how that’s going!
